SEM: THE GAS SAFETY SUPERHEROES
Gas Safety Week may have been and gone back in September but at SEM Facilities EVERY week is Gas Safety Week!
The annual national safety campaign co-ordinated by Gas Safe Register, the official list of gas engineers like ourselves who are legally allowed to work on gas fittings and appliances, was established to create awareness of gas safety in the home and workplace.
Badly fitted and poorly serviced gas appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning. Every year thousands of people across the UK are diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning. It is a highly poisonous gas. You can’t see it, taste it or smell it, but it can kill quickly with no warning.
Safety Awareness
Gas Safety Week has been a great success in terms of awareness but, of course, gas safety is important all year round and we established our business around the desire to make sure that householders and business owners recognised that it should be a top priority.
SEM Facilities’ Gas Safety Superheroes have been busy over the past 12 months, encouraging customers to see their boilers as more than ‘just a white box on a wall’. We genuinely try to save unnecessary cost, hence we always encourage annual servicing, more to limit sudden (and costly) emergency call outs.
Remember, by taking care of your gas appliances properly you are taking care of your home and your loved ones.
