Recently we were able to help them with an urgent project in Greenwich when it was necessary to install six Hudevad radiators and bespoke matching thermostatic radiator valves in one day. Hudevad’s range is noted for it’s designer styling and most of their products are hand made so it was essential that we handled each one with the utmost care. No margin for error.
As a result, we were asked to take on other work for Woodside, whose list of clients includes Islington Borough Council.
THE CHALLENGE:
The challenge involved working in a traditional Victorian building with all the complications that involves, as the infrastructure was clearly never designed for the installation or maintenance of modern facilities.
Access to utility infrastructure is complex enough for cabling but we were asked to re-route pipework from what was a mezzazine floor but has been converted to enable a new study area to be created.
In the process it was necessary to expose the original impressive Victorian domed ceilings and other original features but, obviously, to ensure that none of these heritage features were damaged.
OUR SOLUTION:
We are very experienced in working in and around traditional, heritage and listed buildings and were able to complete the re-routing of the pipework without causing any damage to the heritage features and allowing Woodside’s fit-out team to complete the process but with the flexibility of knowing that they now have easy access points for subsequent maintenance.
